Customised Project Post

Project name: 'Pixels'
Materials used: Water colour, water colour paper (around 300 gsm), brushes, water, pencil, ruler.

The part of this project that I particularly liked was called 'mapping'. The idea or concept was to grab an A3 sheet of paper which already had on it a 3D image constructed of cubes and design a new composition by adding or removing cubes to it. The use of perspective was heavily involved. The end result was quite successful as I had constructed a new composition of 3D cubes that sat well in the space. I chose this project because it was fun to do, it stood out and the outcome was aesthetically pleasing to me.

Lurking

I found these three blog sites using Google blog search. They are the most interesting because they have quite effective design layouts that are visually appealing. The Notcot blog has a polaroid layout which is fun to look at and really puts a unique view on the photos and images posted on there and is effective. The other two blogs have a lot to do with animation and comments about different types of animation which I find is most interesting and relevant to what I'm looking into doing. These are links to the three most appealing blogs I found:

My Project

Project name: 'Pixels'

Completion of project: May 14 2008

Materials used: Water colour, water colour paper (around 300 gsm), brushes, water, pencil, ruler.

This project I composed began at the end of April and the part of this project that I particularly liked was called 'mapping'. The idea or concept was to grab an A3 sheet of paper which already had on it a 3D image constructed of cubes and design a new composition by adding or removing cubes to it. The use of perspective was heavily involved and in many cases there were three points of perspective in use. The end result was quite successful as I had constructed a new composition of 3D cubes that sat well in the space. I ended up with a unique wash that actd as the shadow. I chose this project because it was fun to do, it stood out and the outcome was aesthetically pleasing to me.

My Vlog

This video shows me painting over a picture for my composite image that I scanned in later.
